Oceanbound

Technically the Mediterranean Sea isn't the "Ocean" but its as close as I've gotten in a while, which was almost 3 years ago on my Spanish class trip to Spain. But tomorrow I set off to California with 8 other awesome friends for an awesome week in the sun (hopefully). While there I'm going to be shooting mostly film because in my few black and white photo classes, I developed (ha) a liking for it and really miss it. I also won't be uploading next week, but when I get back there should be quite a few more ocean pics added to my collection.

Portfolio 3

This was taken at a nevershoutnever concert. I just started talking to the security and eventually was let in front of the bar right next to the band. I caught another person's flash and got some sweet side lighting for this shot

Metaphor Project

For our last Photo Arts project we had to illustrate a metaphor through our camera. It was no easy task, but I think I found a couple. Companionship is what I was trying to convey with these two images

RIT Rail Jam- 3

So, I don't think I'm gonna be able to keep up with a photo a day, at least for a while with finals coming up and such, but I'll try to get pics up as much as possible... like this slam taken by a guy at the rail jam. He was attempting a backflip...

RIT Rail Jam

Today was the annual RIT Rail Jam. A sick event put on by the Snowboard Team where snowboarders and skiers from the area come to sesh for the day and compete for some cool prizes. I think however, there were as many photographers as there were riders, but I think I got some unique shots, like this one from the library window. More pics from this event in the next few days

PDN Photo of the Day

I figured if I keep posting my own photos I would probably run out, and I want to show what inspires me. This photo is definitely inspiring. It was taken by Grant Gunderson. I saw it on PDN's Photo of the Day blog. I love the combination of long exposure and flash to capture the action. See more of the photos from this series here

Skiing Magazing Cover

Here it is, my "official" magazine cover of my Photo Arts class. This is what I climbed up halfway up Bristol mountain to accomplish. Skiing magazine does not actually do a photo issue (at least to my knowledge) but I figured if I have to make a fake magazine cover why not go all out and make it the photo of the year. Let me know what you think!

Bristol Mountain - 4

I decided not to crop the merge because I think I gives it more of an organic feel, I also added drop shadows to better emphasize the individual frames, and to more easily compensate for differences in exposure.
